Interim time extension framework
New interim time extension framework and public consultation
The OIPC has launched an interim time extension framework for large volume freedom of information requests under section 10(2)(b) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). The framework aims to provide greater transparency for applicants, with clearer timelines, and fewer repeated extension requests.
Alongside the framework, the OIPC is holding a public consultation to learn about the experiences of applicants and public bodies with large volume requests. The consultation will help inform the framework and guide future improvements.
